Pilgrim List

Dear Community:

On behalf of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, I pray for blessings for each one of you and your families.

God has blessed us with a new season and I look forward with great anticipation to see how His perfect plan plays out and how He will bless our new pilgrims and the teams He chooses for 2012.  Please be in prayer for the Lay Directors, team members, and the pilgrims that God will choose for the 2012 walks.

At last count, we have 30 men on the waiting list and 99 women, which include the 36 women for our March walk.  As you can see, we are in need of more men.  I trust that the Lord will provide but we all must do our part.  Please take the responsibility of Sponsorship seriously.  So many people deserve to enjoy the blessings of an Emmaus weekend.  We as sponsors need to take the time to invite them and provide this opportunity.  If you have never sponsored a pilgrim, you are missing a blessing.  If you are new to sponsorship, ask your sponsor from your walk or someone from your community for their help.

This may be a good time for me to talk a little bit about scholarships that are available for pilgrims or team members.  The community does have some funds available for this, but the last couple of years have taken a toll on those funds.  Please pray about this and possibly even consider a fund raiser or some way to help out so that scholarships can continue.  Maybe, as a community or reunion group, you might start a scholarship fund as a way to assist both pilgrims and team members who may not be able to participate without the assistance of such funds.  Your help and faithfulness will be blessed.

We have a walk coming up March 8^th-11^th, 2012 which will be led by Renea Bowles.   There will only be one walk in March so the team of Walk #66 will be charged with setting the camp up for the walk as well as breaking it down when the weekend is over.  Please be in prayer for the Lay Director, the team and the pilgrims of Walk #66.  I would like to encourage anyone that can, to please come and help the team set up or breakdown the camp as you are able.  God will bless you for your servant’s heart.

God has blessed us with a wonderful tool to help build His kingdom through the Emmaus movement.  The Board of Directors covets your prayers and your faithfulness to serve as God calls you.

May God continue to bless each of you.
